LOCATED IN HOOD RIVER, OREGON in the heart of the Columbia River Gorge, Explore the Gorge was founded by Jamie Tolfree, a former U.S. Forest Service archaeologist and 30-year resident of the Gorge. Explore the Gorge is now owned and operated by longtime Gorge residents Keith and Nancy Clarke.

Keith was born and raised in Hood River and Nancy has lived in Hood River for most of her life. Keith recently retired from the Hood River County Sheriff's Office after 30 years. He started out as a Jailor/Dispatcher, and finished as a 9-1-1 Supervisor. He has a passion for the area he grew up in and enjoys showing and informing people about its unique history and scenic beauty. Keith says the area sells itself, especially when you point out a few interesting facts along the way.
